What Devdoku keeps and why

The short version

Devdoku needs a little data to run a public leaderboard, show visitor counts, and review sponsored-day bookings. We do not sell personal information. We try to collect only what the game and booking flow need.

What we collect when you play

When you add a link or public profile, we store the submitted URL or handle, the public name, favicon, description, player session ID, scores, and game progress for the relevant daily board. We may fetch publicly available page metadata and social-profile details to show a useful leaderboard entry.

Your browser also stores a local anonymous player ID and game-progress data so your session can continue during the same IST day. You can clear this local data through your browser settings.

Visitor counts and analytics

Devdoku creates a random anonymous visitor ID in local storage to count unique visitors and estimate who is currently online. The server stores that ID with first-seen and last-seen timestamps. We also use Vercel Analytics to understand page visits and performance.

What we collect for sponsorship

If you book a sponsored day, we collect your email, URL, selected dates, optional description, fetched public metadata, booking and review status, and payment reference IDs. Payment cards and payment credentials are handled by Dodo Payments, not Devdoku.

When enabled, we also use Cloudflare Turnstile and server-side rate limits to reduce spam, fraud, and bot abuse. Our rate-limit controls use privacy-conscious identifiers such as salted fingerprints rather than publishing your IP address.

Who helps run Devdoku

We use Vercel for hosting and analytics, Neon for the application database, Dodo Payments for sponsored-day payments, and Resend for transactional emails when those messages are enabled. These providers process information only as needed to provide their services.

Public means public

Leaderboard entries, promoted links, sponsor cards, scores, and archived winners are public. Please do not submit personal, private, confidential, or sensitive information. If you ask us to remove a listing, we will review the request, though we may need to keep limited records for security, dispute, or legal reasons.

Retention and your choices

We retain data only for as long as it is reasonably needed to operate Devdoku, maintain public archives, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and meet legal or financial obligations. You can ask to access, correct, or remove your information by emailing hi@devdoku.com.
